Bichons may be prescribed pain medications post operatively or for
orthopedic problems and other issues causing pain. Some
Bichons (though not all) have suffered side effects
to some of the medications. The article found at

for. Immediate veterinary attention must be given
so let your vet know if any of these signs are observed and watch
for them even a few days after medication has been stopped.
