As a Bichon owner, you know they have
the ability to eat something that may be poisonous or dangerous. In
the past we have been made aware that chocolate is toxic to dogs,
and that grapes and related products (i.e. raisons) can cause acute
kidney failure. If you need to contact an expert on items that are
poisonous or toxic to dogs, you can call your local human poison
control center who can advise you, or 1-800-222-1222. However, if
you want information specific to dogs you can contact the Kansas
City State Veterinary Toxicology hotline for free advice 24 hours
per day at 785-532-5679.
